Sunglint on the Alabama Stream

.In this June 26, 2023, photograph taken from the International Spaceport station, direct sunlight shines off the soft waters of the Alabama River in a sensation called sunglint. When photographing Earth, astronauts typically capitalize on sunglint's tendency to enhance the contrast between water surfaces as well as concerning land areas.In the 1960s, the Alabama River was actually repressed, producing Dannelly Storage tank (the large polishing location at center left). Construction of the dam likewise increased water table upriver. This caused flooding at a number of points along the river.
